Title: A lesson in stating the obvious....

Backblipping after a very busy weekend. Had a great long walk along Tayport Heath towards Tentsmuir Point yesterday afternoon - after a great morning in church as the team planting a new church in Carnoustie was commissioned.

Left Jem in the cold a few times as I stalked across the mudflats to try to get some shots of the large groups of Shelduck (probably about 40 in total, never seen so many round here) feeding. Some of the shots were okay, but despite the fact it was a glorious day, the late afternoon light seems a bit flat in the best ones. Loads of Curlews around, the noise was amazing, the usual Oystercatchers, and some other waders I couldn't identify as the tide was too far out! I reckon probably some Sanderlings, judging by size and speed, so disappointed not to get closer. One skein of exactly 43 geese, and three Long-tailed Tits I got far too excited about, but light was all wrong for photos of them. So - here's some sand.
