In the wars...
I went out for a wander at lunch time, not feeling particularly inspired. As luck would have it, a troupe of Hare Krishnas came chanting along Princes Street, and I rattled off a few shots. Blip done, thought I.
Then, around 2pm, I got a call from mrsmonochrome to say that she had had a phone call from Aidan's school nursery to say that he had had an accident, had hurt his head quite badly, and needed to go to hospital. I got the train home, picked the car up from the station and went to meet them at A&E - other than the big bandage on his head, Aidan seemed ok - he was playing away in the waiting room, asking to read stories and chatting as normal to the both of us.
He was a wee star when the doctor came to see him too - he let her take off the bandage fine, and let her have a good look at the cut and in his eyes, ears and nose. He got a little upset when she had to clean the wound, but that's not really surprising - it must have been quite stingy. So, a couple of butteryfly stitches and a big plaster later, and he's all fixed up. He needed some cheering up, and asked to go to McDonalds for dinner, so we couldn't really say no :) Poor wee mite.
