Education that youth find relevant and engaging is Vanessa Paesani's mission. Through her work with The Gaia Project - an energy and environmental educational charity - she works with teachers, students and administrators to realize projects where students lead the charge in researching, developing and implementing school-based sustainability plans.

Vanessa believes the key to engaging people, especially youth, is to first listen and then involve them as decision makers. She also strongly believes in the importance of community involvement. Art is crucial to a community, and she believes everyone is an artist.
