Day Six: Disney Again???

Today we 'did' Versailles...or more accurately speaking Versailles 'did' us. The place is gobsmackingly huge and it's scale, grandeur and 'over the top' excess is far beyond anything Disney has ever done.

At the very end of the day we reached the gardens of Marie Antoinettes palace to be met with the surreal site of what appeared to be an entire Disney-like village. Apparently Marie Antoinette missed the countryside so much she had an entire mock village (complete with farm, houses, lakes, milking parlours etc) constructed in her garden to make her feel less homesick....

Finished off the day with a thrilling drive around the Paris ringroad accompanied by hundreds of mad French motorcyclists...........apologies to any French Blippers out there but one thing the French are NOT good at is driving...
