Hi, I took up ‘blipping’ after it was suggested to me that it would be a good way to mark my recovery.
I had a cycling accident (not my fault) in August 2019.
I had a serious brain injury, was immediately unconscious and was airlifted to a specialist brain trauma unit 30 mins away by air. 1 spent 3 days on a ventilator in ICU. Had 8 fractures plus an acromioclavicular injury and a 3 & 4th nerve palsy of my right eye.
I have had to learn to talk, walk, eat and function again. Well I’ve had to learn how to do almost everything again.
I was 59 years old when the accident happened. I’d always had a feeling that I’d never make it to 60 and I nearly didn’t ! 4 months after the accident I turned 60 years old.
Life has been very hard these last 18 months. I am though, making very good progress and for that I have to thank all the medical help I’ve had and the love, support and patience of my wonderful husband, 4 children and extensive family and friends.
‘Blipping’ each day is motivating me to see the good things in life.
