In July,2012, we formed a small group of six ladies, 2 from Aberlady and 4 from Gullane.
Four of us had each sewn an individual panel for the Prestonpans Tapestry in 2010, and when The Great Tapestry of Scotland was discussed, we all decided we would love to be a part of another piece of history. However, as there were already lots of interested parties, we decided to form a small group.
Sheila Baird, Jean Dawson, Christina Dougan, Alison Sanchez, Esther Sharpley and Hilary Williams all got together and we call ourselves Coastal Stitchers.
The panel we were given is No 60 and is about The Scottish Enlightenment. We have David Hume and Jean Jacques Rousseau in Paris.
The first stitch was sewn in July, and we try to meet each week to discuss colours, stitches and to pass on the panel for the next lady to sew.
