My name is Henrik Moller. I’m a retired ecologist from New Zealand.
After 40 years of research to encourage more sustainable living by putting numbers in front people (which they mainly ignored), I wondered if photographs might work better – so I bought a DSLR a few years back and some friends and I established ‘Ecosystems Photography’, a project that combines images with sustainability commentary. That collaboration has been fulfilling, but I realised lately that it has encouraged me to overthink and overwork the photos and commentaries. I’m hoping that the daily rhythm and more personal scope of Blip will loosen me up and help me regain some spontaneity and enjoyment of photography.
This is my primary journal. As of 7th November 2022, I started a second journal with username 'EcoShutterBug2' to carry some spillover blips that flooded in on particular days, or when the images progress from each other in a series which I do not want to disrupt the flow here in my primary series.
I can be contacted on henrik@ecosystemsphotography.com.
