Transported to the colonies as a child, I finally made my escape and ran away to sea with a rascally Scottish boatbuilder, fetching up on the shores of the West Coast.

Trained as a linguist, I managed to decifer the local dialects, of which there are many, and discovered the joys of the craic. I was fortunate enough to meet the height requirements for the local Blipping Hobbits, my induction being the brilliant Hinterland expedition.
Inspired by my father, well known for placing random thistles, proteas and other assorted flora in the foreground of his landscapes, my photograghic path was encouraged by his parting gift of my first digital camera.

I usually blip with my phone but am gradually being persuaded to drag my Olympus about too.

Thank you to the Hobbits for showing me the silver lining..
