I was the Photographic Director of Lakeland Photographic Holidays, and have been involved in photography for over 50 years, starting as a sports photographer, moving through gigs, theatre, architecture and commercial before finally moving to the Lake District to concentrate on landscape and nature.
As well as running photographic workshops, I wrote for Ephotozine, Outdoor photography, Practical Photography and Advanced Photography. I worked with Lee Filters, and am the co-author of their book "Inspiring professionals" and have just finished my first solo book "Lakeland Mono". I exhibit nationally and internationally, and lecture all over the UK.
I've been a member of Blipfoto for over eleven years now and it's been a fascinating experience. It's taught me to look harder wherever I am, whenever I go out (even to the shops) my camera comes with me. The Blip community is one of the most fascinating, supportive and communicative I've ever known, and in the short time I've been involved I've acquired a whole load of new friends! Originally I only intended to blip for a year, but I can't imagine a day without blipping. I still don't have enough time to comment nearly as much as I want to, but I do look at as many pictures as I can. I publicise Blip as much as possible, and to date, had 98 branches on my tree of life! (before it disappeared!)
