I have just completed a year of treatment for breast cancer, treatment that nearly killed me. As a result I want to spend 2012 focusing on the smaller things in life, those little moments of simple pleasure. Like the smell of a spring rain shower, the first swallows of summer, a beautiful view or stunning sunset. This is a record of my appreciation of all those small things.

So, during 2012 (and beyond) this is what I plan to do:

Genuinely appreciate the little things, whatever they are.

Take note of the world around me and record it. Like the first flowers of spring, a pretty view, random stuff that appeals to me, etc.

To record things that I consider to be little landmarks along the way as I try to recover from the past year.

Learn to be more spontaneous when it comes to photography because that's a good way of improving my skills and is something I used to do and enjoy.

I am not an expert photographer, I don't have a flashy DSLR but I recently treated myself to a Fuji Bridge Camera which I am just starting to learn how to use.

A little more about me. . .

I'm a former national and international dance teacher/performer/choreographer. I had to retire due to all the cancer treatment and I am now reconnecting with my creative spirit through jewellery design, drawing and of course, photography.

I also blog about my breast cancer experiences. You can read my blog here - http://ondineblue.blogspot.com/

The personal stuff . . .

I'm happily married with two grown up step-children and that's all you need to know! :)
