I am just a few hours away from posting my 50th blip, so I thought that it was about time to say a few words about myself. Before doing that I would like to express by appreciation to "barrioboy", an old friend from the early 90ties in Barcelona. I bumped into him in São Read more...
I am just a few hours away from posting my 50th blip, so I thought that it was about time to say a few words about myself. Before doing that I would like to express by appreciation to "barrioboy", an old friend from the early 90ties in Barcelona. I bumped into him in São Paulo on the 20th of March, we met of a beer the next day and by chance we started to discuss photography. On the 21st of March I became a blipper. Thank you very much "barrioboy"!
I received many kind welcome messages form the blip community the first days, but let me highlight the first comment on my first blip; "Welcome to your new addiction"!!! "shearer69" you were so right!
Now a few word about me. I am a Norwegian splitting my time between Lausanne, Switzerland and Sant Cugat (Barcelona), Spain, and quite a lot of traveling across the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America. I'm married to Eva who is from Barcelona, she has two sons, Marc and Nil, and I have one daughter, María.
Maybe it is relevant to mention that I studied at H-W University in Edinburgh (78-81). What a place, what a time!
I have always been attacked to photography, ever since I got a Kodak Instamatic as a Christmas present from my parents some time in the 60ties. I remember getting a lot of flack from my parents if I had "cut off" half a head or a leg. You were not supposed to do that back then.
I bought my first SLR in 1978, a very cool Pentax ME, which kicked off my first photography fever. Since then my interest has always been there, and I have been through a number of cameras, but the activity level has been highly variable. Four years ago I got my first DSLR, a Nikon D-60, and this really made me rediscover photography. I upgraded and expanded my equipment, and then discovered blipfoto.com, and the latter has converted interest into addiction...
I seem to be a slow learner, but I am a keen learner, and blipfoto is a great source of learning and inspiration. It is a lot of fun to take part in a photo contest every day! In addition, blipfoto forces you think creatively, it gets you out and about, it connects you with a very nice crowd, and it is the best course in direct marketing I have ever seen!
Now, I look forward to posting my daily blips, keep on experimenting and hopefully improving along the way.
