My name is Tara Ballenger and I am a student at the University of Missouri's School of Journalism. I'm studying newspaper writing and photography and am now in my first photography course, Fundamentals of Photojournalism. I think the only way to get a real grasp of photography and photojournalism is to push myself to try to take a quality picture every day. I want to document my progress in a systematic way and I think a photoblog is the best way to do it. I am interested in photographing social conditions (poverty, segregation, etc) but also society in general (religion, family) and everyday feature shots. However, I still need a better grasp on light, exposure and composition so some of my pictures might be less content-oriented, while I am still learning. I'm very open to feedback.
