I live with my partner John and two aged cats in a rural Scottish town. I am 'semi-retired', and do a lot of voluntary work for New Lanark - a local World Heritage Site and visitor attraction - and a small charity that supports blind and visually impaired people, as our son Iain went blind three years ago.

My aim in my 'golden years' is to develop the right side of my brain with more artistic activities, and taking up photography is the first step. I lack imagination and some of the photos here take my breath away. But I reckon I have about 20 good years to get to grips with it!

I love macro and landscape photography and would like to get better at these and taking people shots

John and I like sailing [though the boat is sick just now] and driving our old car whenever the sun shines in Scotland.
