I'm new to Blip, again. I've been absent since 2008. I broke (smashed) a camera and just moved on.
A few things have changed. I shaved off the 25 year-old mustache and now sport very short hair.
I still build and play ukulele, but birds are the focus on my current artistic pursuits. Much to my own surprise I've become quite the successful bird carver. With the carving there is field work collecting stories and adventures that I used to produce carvings.
My renewed interest in photography has grown from the need for reference material as well as being able to photograph my work to sell in this web-based world. This led to a new(ish) camera and even more interest in capturing light.
I still direct a traditional arts school and I teach general education to 11 and 12 year-old children at an urban public school. Teaching school in today's urban environment is beyond challenging.
I live in a little old house with my lovely wife and our youngest daughter. Another daughter is off at school studying folklore and Hungarian. The oldest two are off on their own.
We tend a few chickens and a duck, tolerate the girls' two dogs and adore Kevin, the cat.
2008-
I direct a traditional arts program in central Indiana.
I've two teenage daughters (also Blippers).
I play ukulele, trombone and tenor guitar.
The Hoosier Hotshots were the world's greatest band.
Photos are fun!
