Portuguese Man O' War
What an amazing bit of evolutionary diversity. This creature has evolved into a sailboat. It has an air bladder that makes it float and a ridged sail on it's back that catches the breeze like an overloaded Cal 25, but I was most amazed that rather than sailing straight downwind, the sail allowed it to make headway across the wind just like a sailboat.
Wednesday was a boat trip to Dry Tortugas but as I have some bracketed images for HDR I might wait until I arrive home to process them for Blip. I swam a lot and snorkeled a bit in spite of the jellyfish and the wind.
Key West is very nice, you can bicycle anywhere faster than the big Ford F-350 that wanted to pass me today on Duval street. He thundered past me spewing soot and cinder, but then I leisurely pedaled past him as he sat at a light for several minutes (obviously fuming).
