Mother - In - Law

Here is an example of the kind of card Dot has been sending us for 21 years. She always sends cards for all occasions. She still thinks that $5.00 is enough for a tank of gas. Waitress tips should be $1.00, no more. She refuses to use a microwave oven or a dishwasher, they scare her.
Dot is hubby's mother. She is 92 years old and worries about everything. She is still sharp but her thoughts about life never left the depression. She has always recycled everything, plastic bags, used envelops, stickers from anything, old sheets ripped up to use like rope.
Dot had a job inserting bubblegum cigars into paper wrappers.

In 1937 when Dot was 18 years old she worked in a Dry Cleaners checking in clothes and earning $10 a week. She felt lucky she made that much because the Postman made $20 a week.
Dot believes you need no more than two ice cubes in a drink because more than that is extravagant and wasteful. "It's not going to make your drink colder with more cubes."

Dot thinks her retirement Village is far too good for her. If she had her way she would live in a broom closet with just her talk radio for entertainment.

Thanks Dot for life's OLD lessons.

I love being married. It's so great to find that one special person you want to annoy for the rest of your life. ~Rita Rudner
