We had a good celebratory meal last night for N's birthday and a couple of us woke up with headaches - the wine I expect! I had smoked partridge followed by ginger cake with orange custard, fennel, and liquorice icecream. The pudding sounds an extraordinary mixture but it was delicous and the flavour of the icecream was creamy and very subtle.
