Let them eat cake

Unbeknownst to this lovely little girl, she has long been my muse, her striking blue eyes peering out in my portfolio on several occasions, here alongside her twin brother. Her mother and I have a tremendously coincidental story and I last captured her extended family here.

It's twins Shayne and Nick's 3rd birthday. I took Callum as sadly Reuben has an infection, probably from the surgery and is being seen by the Drs. Shame to have missed Ursula's 1st birthday which we were wanting to go to afterwards. The alternative... really love all and whilst I envisaged these images above in dayglo pastels at first, I settled on a more vintage look. Anyway, please help me choose the right Blip.

Callum had a great time on the bouncy castle, attempting to hit the pinata and scoffing birthday cake and treats. Every school day, he naps for only about 40mins on the way back in the car and over the weekend, catches up on a huge nap. Today he fell asleep at 4 and I think that's him for the night!

PS: Can I assume if a client is chasing for the first time on some work, that the use of 2 question marks is a little, what shall I say, rude? (??). I'm really not so good at dealing with a lack of good manners, but that's part of business I guess.

PPS: Just got news from the Drs. Reuben is in hospital overnight with suspected pneumonia. Give the guy a break: 5 hospital admissions in 2 months, surgery, croup, UTI, Coxsockie virus, ear infection and now pneumonia. It appears that life without a tracheostomy has not meant an easier health ride when it comes to the winter, even one as mild as in LA. Perhaps the somersauting between cool wet weather and hot balmy days as in today hasn't helped, or perhaps it's because he's just done his first ever 5 day week at school since he started in September, all down to ill health or hospital appointments on at least one day a week. He really has not had a break this year to be able to enjoy a good long strength of good health. But by Monday, assuming he's improved, we'll meet with his orthopedic Dr to discuss the 3D images produced on his scoliosis, but more critically, his fused neck bones and the implications for surgery in the future.

Exif: 50/1.4 at f1.4/100 and I feel tack sharp at f2 on this new lens. Completely enjoying the additional scene I'm able to capture from the 85 - the reason I got the 50/1.4, yet the 85 will be hard to knock off the pedestal for me.

Edit: the little boy in the bottom is Nick, they're twins.
