The Radio Flyer Wagon
After 5 days of being stuck inside, sick of being sick with a heavy cold, I finally ventured out today, first to school, then with the boys to the patch of nature that makes an appearance at this time of year in our LA neighbourhood. Jason's been away all week and Callum's demanding tantrums are tough when I'm attending to Reu's medical needs. I just have to take lots of deep breaths (yet not easy with a stuffy nose) and carry on with the task at hand. Anyway, I make a brief appearance in the slideshow too.
The retro Radio Flyer Wagon is an absolute delight, especially as it came fully assembled and brand new, a bargain, from Craigslist (aka Want Ads). Oh... how it stirs me now to get out every day in it! I found it almost impossible to choose a favourite pic here, but I implore you to just watch the very quick slide show with the song "You've got a friend in me" (Toy Story) in your head. See what I mean? I wanted this to capture a bit of American Retro, nostalgia, the innocence of youth, the joy for the coming Spring, but mostly the absolute love between my boys. Reuben is Mr Cool with the camera and a natural with his languid devil-may-care poses. How lucky am I!

PS I love them together in IMG_5909 and IMG_5768 is their take on Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid. And Reu is ultra cool in IMG 5758. I so want to do more outdoors. A while back I was on a roll back using spot colouring, always red and mono so it's nice to explore it again. And here I wanted to work with backlit boys and my favourite California light.
