Mirror, mirror, mon amour........
Ladies and gentlemen I present to you....a mirror carp. So called because of the large single scales on the body which are like small mirrors
Today has been a good day with only one blot on the horizon.
Firstly, on the way to fishing this morning at about 7.10 Shaun's phone rang. It was Sam, of Charlie and Sam setting off early to get the best spot fame. They'd done it again, set off before the rest of us, but they were calling to say the A6 was closed! The only advice we could give them was to come all the way back to the motorway and detour through the town. If they'd come in convoy with the rest of us we all would have arrived together, as it was they arrived last and all the best spots were gone! To my mind this proves there is a God....and He's got his eye on Charlie and Sam.
Secondly the weather today was fine and occasionally, when the cloud broke up and the Sun came through, warm.
Thirdly, I caught 4 fish today................I know it doesn't sound impressive .....but....the first one was a Roach of 8oz, the second was this beauty of 6lb 3oz and 8 drams, the third was another carp of 2lb 8oz and the fourth was another carp of 5lb!
Fourthly, I won the match...well, battered the other 8 really. Pity it wasn't an official match instead of just a scratch one, but we do have a match on the same venue in a few weeks time, so at least I know what to do (and I'm not telling the others, not even Shaun).
What a day, I'm as happy as can be.
Das vidanya moy padruga!!!!!
Oh the blot on the landscape?
United lost to the Mickey Mousers! Still I'm not worried, the title is still coming home!
