Stealth Badger

You have no idea...

This is the executive lounge at heathrow for BA.

We got put in here as we were freezing and we were not shouting at the service desk staff, even though it was our fifth complaint of the evening.

Yes the weather ended our trip on a great big stall.

Our flight was booked for 16:15.

We got to the airport at 2:30 and checked in.

We waited in the massive barn that is the 'pleb' lounge for hours while the wind tore a strip off our destination. Our flight got canceled all together. No compensation for that apparently as its the weather. "we will call you forward in fifteen or twenty minutes to get you rebooked" the voice from the ceiling tells us.

An hour later Sweetie goes to get ratty with the peeps at the dest for SOME info at least since our flight seems to have been forgotten about.

We were now on the 18:50! allegedly.

So we waited.

We complained again as there had been NO announcements since our we will call you forward notice.

Ten pounds of vouchers for food. Packaged sarnies and fizzy juice...

At quarter to eight (yes, much past the 18:50 supposed take off) Sweetie goes to ask if there is anywhere we can go to get warm as its getting colder and we had been sitting around for four hours.

A very nice guy put us in the exec lounge (see above).

Free finger food, booze (no thanks), tea (three cups to heat up), packets of biccies and cake (uh huh)... quarter to nine we get called to the gate.

Half nine we take off.

Half ten we touch down.

Great?

Oh no...

The baggage guys prioritized another flights baggage.

We got to baggage reclaim at ten to eleven.

I lifted the bag off the belt just after half past midnight.

My own bed at quarter to one on friday morning.

Poor Bill Door had come to pick me up for half ten too...

All that aside, the time in London was great. Camden keeps a big bit of my heart whenever I leave it.

I'm going back on the 12th of feb though!... I think I'll buy serious travel insurance.
