Dr Fryer at the culmination of a busy day

I was called in to work to see an emergency this evening. Bob loves the clinic. I can now (generally) trust him to wander about on his own, as he knows not to touch anything, including animals, without permission.

This evening, my patient was critically ill and I had lots of serious things to discuss with the dog's owners. Normally, in such a situation, the presence of a young child can be very difficult, as the parents do not want to worry the child by discussing details with her in the room, but the child is not old enough to wait on her own in the lobby.

Enter, Dr. Robert Fryer. Bob introduced himself to the little girl and offered to show her around the clinic while I took care of the dog and the worried owners. Thankfully the clinic was quiet - no surgeries or traumatic injuries being addressed that might frighten a girl who has not grown up visiting the back rooms of veterinary clinics. In fact, both kids had a blast. And her parents were relieved to be able to focus their attention on the dog. Bob's job was just as important as mine and he performed admirably.
