A white surprise

I didn't expect to wake up to a wee dusting this morning... Maybe I would have done if I'd payed attention to the weather forecast, but I hadn't. And it did happen even later, last year...

As you can tell from the macro nature of the shot, there really isn't all that much of it. But it makes the morning sun seem all the brighter.

Bring on the day, after another good night's sleep (9 hours last night, 11 on Monday evening - I think I've nearly caught up from the past few weeks!).
