Happy Christmas.

We had a lovely surprise at Christmas. Our daughter and son-in-law bought us 2 tickets to see Aspects of Love at a theatre in Southampton. The star of the show is David Essex and I was quite a fan of his in the long ago 70s!

Luckily we checked the time on the tickets as we were all set to go to the evening performance and the tickets were for the matinee! Anyway we got there in time. The show was really good, although Mr DV thought he might have fallen asleep if he'd been at the evening performance! (Not a great theatre buff!)

David Essex has aged!! haven't we all? He has greying hair, but not a lot of it and he's a little on the portly side - BUT his eyes twinkle just the same, and he has the same cheeky expression. The theatre was full to capacity and I would say 85% of the audience was of a certain age and female! The cheers at the end of the performance nearly lifted the roof and we all agreed that he hadn't lost any of his charm! I think we all left the theatre feeling as though we were teenagers again...now that is a Christmas present worth it's weight in gold!
