Bit of an emergency blip tonight due to a Parent's Evening to illustrate the finer points of the E Bacc. Can't say too much about it, as you never know who's keeping an eye out, but not sure it was the best use of my time.

Shot back home to be greeted by the Boss who had already eaten, the Daughter who was preparing to eat and the immortal words..."We've had ours, see what you can find, and don't hang about we need to be out in 45 minutes for the quiz."

What I could find was half a tin of beans, some baking spuds and some cheese.
So that was it... a baked spud with beans and cheese.

We didn't win the quiz, lost by two points, but it's not good if we win every week, you can feel the waves of resentment as you go up to collect the £20 prize. The Boss also got drawn out for the Play Your Cards Right game, but she didn't win the £80 either. I mean with aces high and a seven face up, who picks lower?

The Boss does.

When she got back to the table and I tried to explain she should have gone higher as there are 7 higher cards and only 5 lower, she said" Don't criticise if you haven't got the balls to go and try yourself!" I was going to point out that over the years she's never won, while I've won about 4 times for a total of about £380, but I could tell by the glint in her eye that it wouldn't be my wisest ever move.
