Hadrian Singers and Amandla Esandla
The Comrades Club in Haltwhistle was packed tonight for the first concert of the newly formed Hadrian Singers. I went in time for the final rehearsal; that meant I did not need to take photos during their performance with the risk of distracting them. They won't mind me saying that they were quite nervous and there were a few mistakes in the rehearsal, but when it came to their performance everything went really well.
There are about 35 of them, so this is just a small section here. Their wonderful conductor, Bridie Jackson, has trained the choir to sing out with enthusiasm. Her methods paid off admirably and the audience loved the results.
A South African quartet of a capella singers, Amandla Esandla, took the stage for the rest of the evening. They entranced the listeners with their songs and their enthusiasm was infectious. Here are a few photos of them.
It was a such a happy evening. Well done everyone.
