James Blake "Limit to your Love"
I was always really mas o menos about dubstep, but I'm happy to see all of this great post-dubstep coming out of England. It has less gurning anxiety. It's usually more danceable (Insider tip from my little sis: Wear your big heavy boots on dubstep night. It works) and always more pleasant. James Blake is an obvious standout. He is so fragile in this song. Listen to it with your bass turned up.
I'm almost "home" after an interview at Abingdon school in Oxfordshire. I was really reluctant to apply and even more reluctant to take 3 days off work to teach a lesson and get grilled in three separate interviews. Meeting everyone, teaching the pupils, walking around the campus, all of it sort of made me fall in love with the place. My lesson was perfect and my interviews were mostly very good. I met some of the other candidates and they were all just as elegant and charming as myself, so it's impossible to guess how things will turn out.
I'll be sending an application to a school in Beijing this weekend. I had decided I was done with that part of my life, but now I'm not so certain. I have too much baggage in that city. It's also familiar, which is comfortable, but I'm looking for new experiences. I also don't know if it can live up to my memory, but maybe it can. I mean why not? I packed so much life into those trips. It's a great place for me to let off some steam. Nowhere have I done so much clubbing and other "related activities". It's also both so easy and impossible to meet people. I like it, but there's so much anxiety that goes with it. It's like dubstep. I'm still not sure about it.
This blip is another of my father; this time thinking about something, work I think, in his home in Ekali. I'll be there in 2 weeks and a day. I can't wait. I could use a little vacation after everything that's been going on in my life lately. There's an off chance I'll have to make a trip to London for some more interviews. Cross your fingers with me and hope they're just over skype.
