Escape
It was a long night - H woke up at around 3.30am and was up crying on and off for around an hour, her whole body absolutely roasting. She was eventually too tired to stay awake, and slept the rest of the night in our bed (although H's Daddy would have preferred it not to have happened on a night where he was a bit the worse for wear!)
Luckily, our guests had earplugs, so only 1 of them heard her cry out, but fell back asleep instantly, and the other didn't hear a thing. After another full breakfast (including fried pancakes - weird Ayrshire boys??!!) they got on their way and the day was ours.....to do nothing with really. I caught up on washing, we had a rare nap when H went for hers, we played outside for a while and we shared and Indian take away for dinner to save me cooking.
H was very clingy with me all day, but at least her temperature had returned to normal this morning. She is still clawing at her mouth though - in fact, she had her first ice-lolly today in a bid to find something that would soothe her pain. Needless to say she had about 3 licks and then dropped it in the muddy grass!
H still tries to escape upstairs every time the stair gate is open - in fact she can't resist it. When we want her to go to bed, if she is unwilling to come upstairs, we simply leave the gate open and within 1 minute, she has made a beeline for it and off she goes of her own accord. She has been very good at climbing up and down the stairs for a while, but I still feel she isn't careful enough coming down them as she doesn't realise she could get hurt. So the gates stay on until she is a bit older. Open plan houses are such a pain!
