Wellington Statue

Today I have learnt that in 1885 the Wellington statue was moved from Hyde Park corner to the top of a wee hill in Aldershot- the spot was chosen by the Prince of Wales. It was broken into 5 pieces to be moved and still stands proud in the sunshine in Aldershot.
If it wasn't for blip I'd never have known that! I also wouldn't have realised how big it is as I've only seen it from the nearby road before. I was surprised to see how huge it is and also surprised to see in quite large detail that it was a male horse!
