Earl Haigs statue, Edinburgh castle, Scotland

Photo was taken at a new museum in Edinburgh Castle which has this monument to Earl Haig in the courtyard.

Earl Haig was notable as the British commander with the most casualties under his command, in total 2 million British soldiers, it was for this record he was dubbed "Butcher Haig". Field Marshal Haig has come to represent the very concept of class based incompetent commanders, unable to grasp modern tactics and technologies.(Wikipedia)

Had a day of listening to people moan and groan about the most trivial of things. Recent events in my life and throughout the world have made me realise how important it is to count your blessings every day.
