Judgement

If God...all over the world can see,
I wonder...what he is thinking of me?
Do my actions revile and cut like a knife,
Does he think...I value so little of life?

In my heart...does he frown on hate that is there,
Can he hear only words as I mumble a prayer?
Does he ridicule Satan for causing such loss,
Does he count me unworthy with a soul that is dross?

Am I all but wasted in this mortal plan,
And a poor imitation of the metal of man?
Do my traits fill up inside of a freak,
Or do all my friends say I'm yellowed and weak?

Or do all my endeavors stand firm in the mold,
Do I cling with a strength unto virtues that hold?
Do I share what I gather in cash on a shelf,
Do I love every neighbor...even as myself?

For judgement is coming to all men on earth,
It will exalt him on high for his deeds of great worth.
Whether a king or a pauper, the Lord will rejoice,
And reward him for good...in the realms of the choice.

E.P. 1908 - 1989

"For judgement is coming to all men...whether he be as light as the tall mountain peaks...or as dark as the deep pits of MonaLoa." E.P.
