Gooseberry Falls

These folks are standing on the creek (Spring thaw has begun), and I'm on the icy edge of a cliff. Nuts, the lot of us.

Had a nice day - visited Ely, Minnesota near the border with Canada. Nice drive through Superior National Forest, visited a grove of some huge old white pines that were 70 years old when the Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776 (according to the sign). And some exploration along the North Shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota - it's been at least 11 years since I was last up here.

Saw a coyote, a beaver, and a deer - no moose on this occasion although I've seen them before. I've never seen a timber wolf, although I've heard them howling.
