Gooseberry Falls (2)
Roughly in the direction of from where yesterday's photo was taken. Spring has sprung - rushing water has found channels in the frozen waterfall but is not quite warm enough yet to melt the ice. Just after I took this photo - it began to snow.
It's amazing to me how trees can cling to cliff faces. In northern Minnesota, the main species are black spruce, white spruce, birch, aspen, red pine, white pine, jack pine, tamarack, northern cedar, and balsam fir.
You can see the red iron in the cliff and in the ice.
