Terraced houses in Harbour Street Port Erroll
Another glorious spring day prompted a morning visit to to Port Erroll.
Port Erroll is the harbour area of Cruden Bay village and it once supported a small fishing community living in these terraced houses. Unfortunately the harbour was tidal and only small fishing boats could use it. Major features of the village are rugged and scenic cliffs to the north and a vast and magnificent beach backed by the world famous Cruden Bay links golf course, founded in 1791. All of these led to an early tourist industry that supplemented the income from fishing.
