Halfway down the stairs..
Halfway down the stairs
Is a stair
Where I sit
There isn't any
other stair
Quite like
It
I'm not at the bottom,
I'm not at the top
So this is the stair
Where
I always
Stop.
Sparky the cat lives on the stairs and landing, reminding me frequently of this poem by A.A. Milne, from his 'When We Were Young' collection
Anyone associated with a veterninary practice will know that there is a tendency to acquire animals. I was duped into adopting this huge, hansome silver tabby.
Sparky was brought in with an eating disorder, his owners couldn't cope with his frequent vomiting, so they asked if he could be re-homed.
It transpired that the vomiting was caused by his greed. By giving him dry food that has to be bitten before it is swallowed the problem has resolved.
Sparky is HUGE, not overweight, just a giant feline. He sleeps all day on the landing and goes hunting all night. moles are one of his specialities. He has the markings of a snow leopard, and has been mistaken for a wild 'Big Cat' when caught in headlights on several occasions.
He is not the slightest bit affectionate, and will only communicate when hungry or thirsty. He loves the dog and they play for ages, quite roughly.
No need to say who is the boss.
