Oh, I can speak in English to you?
Day 2 in London was just a full, and just as wonderful. Main order of the day was to walk from Tower Bridge all the way along the Thames to Big Ben. And that we did. Sadly bypassing the Tower of London (18 pounds? Really?), we crossed the Tower Bridge, ate amazing fish and chips with mushy peas, did a tour of the Globe Theatre, stood on the Millennium Bridge, saw a man attempt to jump off the Millennium Bridge, scoffed at the people queuing for the London Eye and gazed in wonder at the silhouette of the House of Parliament and Big Ben against the setting sun.
Big breath.
After all the appropriate ooo-ing and aahh-ing, we walked along to Westminster Abbey (regrettably closed), before grabbing a train to Harrods for High Tea. I'm really glad i did that. Harrods is epic - it has so many floors with so many different rooms and things to look at and buy. The High Tea room was one of the higher levels, and we were treated to sandwich trianges, scones with jame and cream and a few little cakes, as well as the obligatory english breakfast tea! We felt slightly out of place, however, in a jeans and shirts, amongst the trussed-up little old ladies.
Last on the agenda was Covent Gardens, which i loved for its street performers and little streets. One particular show included a particularly unfortunate man who was required to push the performer up onto a uni-cycle in the air by touching his bum. It took the poor guy about 10 minutes to work himself up to it, while all the while the performer was simultaneously holding himself up, begging with the man to help him, and taking the piss out of him for being so obviously uncomfortable. Good night.
