Getting It the Right Way Up

My enthusiasm for physical activity when I wakened to sunshine and a deep blue sky, dissipated with the arrival of clouds, leaving me rather luck lustre and happy to potter around the marches of the estate with my camera.

Part of my problem was down to having a late meal last night with more wine than normal and that in turn was down to gracing an evening function for son #2.

We had been asked by D77 if we would stand in for him and go to the prize giving of 'A Shot in the Park' photographic exhibition in which he was a finalist, at the Royal Society in George Street.

What we didn't know was we had to sit through two hours of rather boring information about all the parks in Edinburgh, and then the presentation of prizes to allotments, parks, and gardens, front and communal as well as the 'Shot in the Park' competition.

Had it not been for Bill Torrance of Beechwood Garden fame and his part in presenting some of the prizes, we might have fallen of our chairs with boredom.
But he was very amusing and entertaining and lifted the occasion to another dimension.

A late meal with too much wine at Chez Julie in Hanover Street helped restore the balance if not today's joie de vivre.
