Fencing at Brodgar

Looking toward the hills of Hoy. I was at the RSPB reserve at Brodgar helping with some fencing. We were lucky that it stayed dry but the wind blew strongly and cold all day. I was glad that we had the Land Rover to lunch in.

This is one of the other volunteers. We are winding out a strand of wire that will be strung along the wetland to keep the cattle from clumping over birds nests. It'll be electrified but only mildly. I say that, but whenever I accidentally get zapped it is like a swear-word is made electric, travels therough my hand, arm and out of my mouth. However cows never swear.
