Dear Heart

Dear Heart,
Tired again today. I managed to miss one of my favourite lectures and took a nap in the afternoon, completely forgetting I was supposed to get essay feedback at 2. Everything is unravelling education-wise and next week demands some hard work: no more nostalgia trips. I don't want to admit how many hours I have spent today singing songs from Doctor Dolittle and enticing others into doing the same.
I popped out to sit with Becca in sun-soaked Bute, and on the way spotted so many different nostalgia buds by the river; forget-me-nots, buttercups, daisies and daffodils. Each was encountered by Mamma Mia and myself on our treks home from primary school in summer; me dragging my buckled feet behind, desperate to reach the half-way mark that was our corner shop (always promising sustenance in the form of sugared sweets and chocolate bars). Gosh...
Love, Lydia x
