The last day of ladders. It was again a day of application. We were atop our training houses in the damp wind after an early spring snowfall, sitting astride the rather sharp roof peaks. The evolution was to haul a roof ladder up; haul a halligan and sledge axe, a bullet saw, and a pike pole up; and practice ventilating the roof by simulating a four foot by four foot square cut. The wind wasn't so cold after that!

Today also saw my squad on recruit lunch duties. We were stars the first week of recruit lunches with tacos, but this time we used a connection with Boston Pizza and served a fine caesar salad with 22 pizza pies of various flavours. This is how much pizza 33 recruits and 30+ guests eat... A tower of pizza. Almost a ladderable structure.
