quieter better faster more
For the second time running I've noticed that sitting inside drinking coffee (and, this time, eating a lemon & poppyseed cakelet) for an hour in the middle of a commute to meet up with some people from an internet makes you feel oddly cold upon emerging, necessitating donning an extra layer before going outside. Not sure whether it would be the sitting or the coffee... probably the sitting, as when I leave the house in the morning into colder air it's generally after trotting up and down the stairs a few times, hoicking things in and out of bags and dandling the wean to ensure that he's happy to wave at me through the window when I get back, usually in the middle of his tea. The same thing doesn't seem to happen as much during mosque lunches, featuring similar inactivity for similar lengths of time in the middle of the exercise of getting there and getting back, but they're in the middle of the day.
