Japonica
Or Japanese Quince as it is also called adds colour to the garden with its red blossom in the springtime. The bitter fruits are edible but better made into a quince jelly to eat with meats etc. These quinces are not to be confused with the large pear-like jelly-making fruit of the Quince Tree, a different species all together.
The day turned decidedly cloudy and dark although still very warm, so apologies for this rather darkened blip!
I have now caught up with backblipping!
