Blanket of Yellow
These little flowers are called Tombstone Roses. They may also be known as the Lady Blanks Rose (but I like Tombstone better, living in Arizona, and all). The yellow flowers are the Luten variety. There are two white varieties. Their origin is from China.
They are bushes which are ornamental, good for laying over trusses or walls.
My neighbor and I have a brick wall, I'd say just over three feet tall separating our yards. Elaine has her entire wall covered with these Tombstone Roses. They just lay over the wall onto my side. She once asked me if they annoyed me and if I wanted her to cut them back.
Never, I told her! They are beautiful! It is written that they will bloom typically from spring through summer but I have found their blooming season to be much shorter.
You can see there are more buds ready to flower. Some flower in groups, like the ones I photographed here. Others, singularly. In either case, the blanket of yellow is just lovely.
