Thistle Down

By Ethel

I Knew Him

He was loved by everyone,
Earning his livelihood.
He ever strived to do his part,
To scatter the world with good.

His policy all through his life,
Was service...where ere he can.
He found his joy in every day,
Just helping his fellow-men.

Truly...his hand-clasp strengthened,
The tie in friendship's cord.
His ideals made him always,
A servant...of the Lord.

Spoken words revere his name,
So honest in his labors.
Folks...who live across the way,
Are glad...to call him...Neighbor.

Dedicated to 'Cowboy'. This is his art and a gift to our son. It's an elk antler. Your friendship is truly valued.
