Lifesaver

Following the cinema, shopping, and lunch in Donaghadee this afternoon, Sophie wanted to go on what she calls an "expedition", which is what she calls it when we drive around looking at fancy houses, or interesting things. Today, the Sir Samuel Kelly lifeboat found favour with her.

It has been up on bricks here, as far back as I can remember. Many times I took Chris (now 23) for a drive out to here to get him to sleep as a toddler on a Sunday afternoon. This lifeboat was instrumental in saving quite a few lives and I hope they get the restoration finished before I'm too old to be able to climb inside and see what it's like.
