Carpe florum

Our magnolia stellata is now reaching its fullest bloom. This was the bud of just 10 days ago.

Soon the flowers will wilt and fade, and the vibrant green leaves that come in their wake last through to the autumn.

But for the briefest of days they are the most beautiful thing around.
