hidden orchard

I go past the knarled old apple trees quite often, and there's something a bit mysterious about them

They're behind a high board fence with barbed wire on the top, it's a much bigger garden than normal for round here

They're obviously quite old, I wonder if there was originally a fully fledged orchard here before the house was built and these are the remnants.
