Today's the day ..................... to come home

Flew into Edinburgh early this morning after our time away and then eventually drove back home to Kendal. It had only been just over a week - but it felt much longer somehow. Everything seemed so green here and much, much smaller.

After all the excesses of the States and Canada where we had got used to the biggest, tallest, highest skyscrapers and 12-lane + highways with lots of fast-moving traffic - everything seemed on a different scale altogether.

We went past the Famous Star Hotel in Moffat which dates from the late 1700's and at only 20ft wide and 162ft long is the world's narrowest hotel. That's the sort of thing that gets into the Guiness Book of Records from this part of the world?!

It's good to be home - but it was great to be away. Thank you to all you blippers who came with me and added comments - and to the new blip friends that joined in. It made the world seem a very friendly place .......................
