Frogfall
Well it has been a pretty miserable rainy day here but I suppose I should count myself lucky that it is merely water and not frogs or fish or hazelnuts.
There are many documented cases of such falls and no-one really understands why they happen. The usual theory is that they are picked up by whirlwinds which then blow out and drop their cargo over peoples lawns. This explanation does not account for the specificity of the falls and why other associated debris (such as leaves or seaweed) are not also transported by the whirlwinds.
This particular frog is an actual film prop used in an actual frogfall scene in a film called Magnolia. I haven't seen the film, apart from the frogfall bit. I think I recognised our frog though.
