My Brother Came Home Today
It wasn't to see our parents
It wasn't to celebrate the eleventh
It wasn't so Dad and I could play with Butch
It wasn't to pick up a Christmas gift
It was for a girl.
Now this shouldn't bother me, but it does. I severely dislike the girl and I really don't like the way he completely changes his life at break-neck speed for girls... but that's not enough. The fact is I've been around for every single one of his birthdays since I was born, and I have this uncanny ability to actually remember the date of his birth. When it's my birthday I'm surprised if I get a phone call, especially if Mom didn't prompt it.
But the funny thing is, I still know this shouldn't be a big deal... but it makes me sad when he doesn't even say 'Happy Birthday' or 'Hi' or give me a hug when he gets here.
At least I got to play with Butch. We went on a walk, and fyi: it's still wicked cold. My septum ring froze with each inhalation, and I'd lost feeling in my hindquarters for quite a while.
